no pattern chuck anderson

I was looking for posters around SLC and I went into a store where I found a Chuck Anderson’s poster. “Wow! It’s been a while since I went to his website to take a look.” And that’s what I did today. His works are amazing and have such a unique style. Very good taste and perfect color combination. Lights are his specialty.

design chapel updated

It’s been years since I chose Design Chapel as one of my references. I remember using the wallpapers for months. The style was unique and years ahead the other design websites.

Now Robert Lindström, Interactive Art Director and Co-Founder of North Kingdom updated Design Chapel (his personal portfolio) website. The blog section is awesome!

rio 65 trio

I was on Google, searching for new music to listen to, when I found this:

“This is Rio 65 Trio - Rio 65 Trio (1965), for Philips, one of the greatest Samba Jazz album ever recorded featuring Dom Salvador, Edison Machado and Sergio Barroso. Do I need to say more? I don’t think so. This is the kind of album I would select to stay in the front page when leaving to a vacation. Thanks once again tcisalpino. Friends who are new to our community, don’t think twice, this album should be listed on every serious list of top records of any kind.”

Well,… Sergio Barrozo - bass player from Rio65 Trio is my father. I’m very proud to say that my father is one of the most talented bass players in Brazil,… and that’s not what I say, that’s what I hear from a lot of great jazz musicians and listeners all around.

Now they have recorded a new album as Dom Salvador Trio that is on sale on Biscoito Fino Records website. You can also find some songs in the iTunes Store searching for “rio 65 trio” or “dom salvador”.

In this album cover photo, my father was younger than me.

Select t-shirts website

If you like different illustrations on t-shirts you should go to the Select Series website from Threadless. Threadless is a website that has a very cool selection of designers making really awesome t-shirts. And they now have 4 websites to fit different styles of t-shirts they make.

Select is one of them, that in my opinion is the best one from a designer point of view. So if you want to go there, just click on the image below.

xplsv motion graphics website

If you are a big fan of motion graphics like I am you should check out the xplsv.tv website. XPLSV is a great source for designers looking for inspiration and it’s also a place where a lot of talented graphic artists show their skills uploading their personal portfolios.
The image I’m using here is from Lustix Winter Reel from 2007. It’s been 2 years since it was uploaded, but it’s still one of the best I’ve ever seen.

Just click on the image to go to the XPLSV website.

the fwa photo

If you are a photo fan now you have a new URL to add on your Favorites tab. It’s called the FWA Photo. The FWA (favorite websites award) is one of the biggest online website awards and now they came up with the photo “award” website, where they post one photo a day. It’s a great place to get that daily inspiration we need before starting on our work.
